Image Upscale

Increase image resolution before using a frame as a reference or video source.

What image upscale does

Image upscale creates a higher-resolution version of an existing image. Use it when the image is useful but too small or soft.

When to use it

Use upscale when:

  • the composition works
  • the subject is clear
  • the image will be reused
  • the image will become a video source
  • you need a cleaner asset for later projects

Do not upscale a bad image just because it is blurry. If the subject or composition is wrong, fix that first.

Upscale an image

  1. Select an Image node.
  2. Choose Upscale.
  3. Pick the available upscale factor.
  4. Check the credit cost.
  5. Generate the upscale.
  6. Compare the result with the original.

What to check

Look for sharper edges, cleaner detail, and fewer artifacts. If upscale creates strange details, use the original or try a cleaner source.
